From time to time, we invite people to join committees and working groups that cover:

• things we can do to improve our services
• National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards
• patient safety and quality
• patient experience
• specific health issues or services.

How much time it takes

Once you join a committee, the amount of time you'll spend on it will vary depending on the committee. Meeting time could be as much as 1 to 2 hours per month or as little as 1 to 2 hours every 3 months. To prepare for meetings and read any material in advance, you may need an extra 1 to 2 hours.

Committee positions can last for up to 2 years.

How to join

First, you'll need to join our consumer engagement register. When you sign up, we'll ask you which topics you want to contribute to.

Committee positions only come up occasionally, so there may not be a position straight away. When a suitable position comes up, we'll let you know.
